Credits come in packs of 500 for $5, 1,000 for $10, 2,600 for $25, 5,300 for $50, or any amount from 5 to 1,000 dollars. A request is charged by the tokens it really used, rounded up, minimum 1 credit. Model requests and dollar requests share the same speed limits.
Questions about paying
What is a token?
A token is a small piece of a word. One English word is about one and a third tokens, so a page of text is about 600 tokens. You pay for the tokens you send and the tokens that come back.
Why do replies include a reasoning step?
The AI thinks briefly before it answers. That thinking comes back separately, so your app can show it or hide it. It counts as tokens that come back, and every price on this page already includes it.
Which credit gets used first?
Plan credit first, then credit you bought. Plan credit resets each month and doesn't roll over. Credit you buy never expires.
What happens when I run out?
Requests stop with a clear "out of credit" message until you add more, so there are no surprise bills. You can also turn on auto top-up: when credit drops below a level you pick, we add an amount you pick, at most once every 10 minutes.
Can I cancel a plan?
Yes, any time, from the Billing page in your dashboard. You keep the plan's credit until the end of the month you paid for. Credit you bought stays on your account.
Does credit expire?
No. Credit you buy never expires, so $5 lasts for as long as you need it to. Use a little today and the rest next year. (Plan credit is the one exception: it resets each month.)
Is there a free trial?
No free credit, ever, which keeps the service fast and fair for people who pay. You can send 3 short messages on the home page first, with no account. Then start with $5, about 5,000 typical replies.
Are prices in US dollars?
Yes. If your card uses another currency, your bank converts it.
Start with $5.
One step: pay $5, get your key on the next screen, and see how it feels in your app.
